Ivo Pages makes wine the way most people take vacations, by falling for a place and staying. He’s based in Cadaques on Catalonia’s coast and works with local growers across Costers del Segre, a region still recovering its identity after phylloxera wiped out its old vines. Pirata is his flagship red line, a Mediterranean blend built on Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Monastrell. Capitan is the 2020 vintage of that bottling, red fruit and spice for anyone who wants Spain without the usual Rioja detour.
