Mimi is the Cabernet Franc from Holmes Wine, Jackie Moriarty’s tiny Virginia label. She is a traveling winemaker who cut her teeth at Bluemont Vineyard and worked harvests from New Zealand on, now settled in Loudoun making just three wines. The 2020 comes from Williams Gap Vineyard fruit, fermented low-intervention with native yeast and a light touch of oak. A lighter, peppery Franc, and proof Loudoun grows this grape well.
