The 2021 Wild Mountainside comes off the Hoppe-Kelly and Limerick Lane vineyards in the Russian River Valley, fermented with about a third whole clusters and around 5% Viognier, then raised 15 months in one-third new French oak with 20% of the wine in amphora. Roughly 500 cases exist. This is Syrah for the Northern Rhône crowd: peppery, floral, savory, nothing like the jammy stuff. Grab it before the Pinot people catch on.
