Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a Premier Cru Classé of Sauternes under the 1855 classification, owned by Bernard Magrez since 2012, when he bought it from the Pauly family after nearly a century of their stewardship. This 2017 comes in a half bottle, 375ml, which is exactly how Sauternes should live in your fridge. White peach, honeycomb, marmalade, plenty of botrytis, with acidity keeping all that sweetness honest. Wine Enthusiast went 96 points. Pour it with Roquefort and watch the room go quiet.
