Casa E. di Mirafiore was founded in 1878 by Emanuele Alberto Guerrieri, Count of Mirafiore and son of Italy’s first king. Today it is Fontanafredda’s historic sister estate in Serralunga d’Alba, farmed organic since 2018. The 2019 Barolo is the classicist’s bottle: Nebbiolo fermented in steel, held 30 to 40 days on the skins, then aged two years in big oak casks of 2,000 to 14,000 liters. 2019 is a structured, age-worthy vintage.
