Inglenook is Napa history you can drink. Gustave Niebaum completed his Rutherford winery in 1887, and it remains the oldest bonded winery in California, restored today under the Coppola family. The 2016 1882 blends 84% Cabernet Sauvignon with 7% Petit Verdot, 7% Syrah and 2% Cabernet Franc from the estate’s Rutherford benchland neighborhood. Jeb Dunnuck compared it to Saint-Julien and gave it twenty years of runway. Savory, polished Rutherford Cabernet from a name that built the valley.
