People is Poggio le Volpi’s flagship Frascati Superiore, from a winery built in 1996 on the volcanic soils of Monte Porzio Catone, in the hills above Rome where Frascati has been made since Roman times. It’s Frascati’s classic Malvasia-Trebbiano style, fermented for freshness rather than weight. This is what Frascati is supposed to taste like before mass-market versions flattened the category’s reputation. Easy porch wine, better restaurant wine than its price suggests.
