Description

When Angelo Gaja bought Pieve Santa Restituta in 1994, it was the family’s first move outside Piedmont since 1859, and Rennina is what he came for: Sangiovese from three neighboring parcels around a fourth-century church where wine has been made since the 1100s. It ages about two years in oak, then six months in concrete before bottling. The 2013 is a classic, cooler vintage now sitting right in its drinking window. Brunello with a Barbaresco master’s fingerprints on it.
