Blade and Bow was created using the solera aging method — a technique borrowed from sherry production, where a small amount of older, rare whiskey (sourced from remaining stocks of the shuttered Stitzel-Weller distillery) is blended into each batch, ensuring some continuity from barrel to barrel over time. The name itself pays homage to the five keys that once hung on the walls of Stitzel-Weller, representing the steps of bourbon making. Expect a nose of vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit, moving into a smooth, well-rounded palate with baking spice and light oak, finishing gently with a touch of honey. An easy-drinking, accessible bourbon with a genuine connection to one of bourbon history’s most storied distilleries.
